Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas confirmed that the transfer of the capital from Jakarta to the archipelago is waiting for the readiness of the capital of the archipelago (IKN).
“The law on DKJ (Special Region of Jakarta) is no problem. IKN is also no problem. Because it depends on the readiness,” Supratman said at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday.
Supratman said that currently Jakarta is still the capital of the country.
The transfer of the capital from Jakarta to the archipelago, he said, after Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto signed a presidential decree (keppres) related to the transfer of the capital to IKN.
“Jakarta for a while still remains the capital of the country although later the process of moving it will ultimately be determined by when the president will sign the move,” he said.
Previously, the 7th president of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo said that the move to the capital must ensure the readiness of all supporting infrastructure such as hospitals, educational facilities from kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school/vocational school to university, and there needs to be crowded centers such as restaurants and stalls.
“Problems related to logistics, where we are looking for something, where we are looking for Something, want to buy something, everything has to be ready. If now the apartment is ready, but the office is not yet, what do you want,” said Jokowi.
Therefore, Jokowi said that the presidential decree should be signed when all these things are ready, namely during the era of Prabowo Subianto’s leadership.
